2015/16 Season – Auditions

Vox boys’ choir was founded in 2012 by male-voice-specialist singing teacher and choral conductor, Don Gillthorpe, to provide a challenging consort singing opportunity for boys aged between 14 and 19.  The choir meets on a weekly basis on Wednesday evenings (7.30pm-9.00pm) during the term time, with no rehearsals during the public examination period.  There is currently no subscription charge for singing in Vox.

As we begin our new season, we are looking to replace singers who are leaving to go to university, several of whom will be taking up choral scholarships at leading institutions.

We invite prospective singers to join us for an audition rehearsal on Wednesday 16th September 2015 at Ripley St Thomas Academy.  The audition will take the form of an ordinary rehearsal with new singers being withdrawn individually for simple aural and sight-singing tests.  We also encourage you to join the audience for our concert on Thursday 17th September 2015 at 7.30pm in Lancaster Priory.

To apply, please download, complete and return the application form by Friday 11th September 2015.  Eligible applicants will be invited to audition by email.
